Ferris Bueller's Pants Off
The actor that played the prinicipal in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Jeffrey Jones, was arrested on acts of using a minor for sex acts. I was listening to the Jim Rome show today in my car and somebody e-mailed in and asked if he was starring in the sequel, Ferris Bueller's Pants Off. It made me laugh. It's sick.
All you can eat ... well, no, not really
Thanks to donewaiting.com for pointing out the link to a story about EMusic cancelling the subscriptions of those who download too much music despite their claim that users who subscribe can download unlimited amounts of music.
Labels starting to wise up?
Thanks to Brian for sending along the link to this story -- Music giants are going for the burn. It appears as though the major labels are finally starting to realize that they can't stop people from downloading music so they might as well accept it and try to get something out of it.
You're &%#@ kidding me?!?!?
The best triple bill I've even seen was Veruca Salt/Fig Dish/Triple Fast Action in Cincinnati, probably 5 years ago. Hands down, those are three of my favorite bands ever and the show was a dream come true. Well, I just saw this show listing and it comes pretty close to competing with the previously mentioned one. Too bad it's just a one-off show (and so far away). (I guess it's not obvious who the third band is ... it's Sullen.)

Join the Service
Did you watch VH-1's Bands on the Run a few years back? Remember that guy in Soulcracker named Beastie? Well, Beastie left Soulcracker a few months after the show ended to pursue an acting career. Things must not have been going so well in the acting field, so Beastie returned to the music scene, starting a new band called The Service. I haven't even had time to listen to the sound samples yet so I'm not really sure what The Service sounds like, though I'm heading there now to get a taste.
I was once a man
You know, I kind of feel sorry for Michael Jackson. Granted, he is responsible for his own destiny, but when you see pictures of him, it's just very sad. He looks so odd that it's hard to believe that he's a human.
The power of love
The new solo album from Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson is really good ... really. It seems as if falling in love and growing older has mellowed him out a bit. This is a really dreamy southern rock album that moves along at a snail's pace. No rollicking hippie jams here. Color me impressed.

The Charisma Kid
Later this week I'll be interviewing Ben Kweller. He is currently on tour with some band called The Strokes (?). Don't know, never heard of 'em either. He'll be swinging through my neck of the woods with Adam Green from the Moldy Peaches next week.
